Love & Pollination Blog Tour + Review

Updated: Feb 23

Firstly, for everyone who’s new here, welcome to Artfully Bookish and for everyone else, welcome back! Today I’m incredibly excited to be kicking off the Blog Tour for Mari Jane Law’s hilariously quirky situational rom-com, Love & Pollination.

I also just wanted to say a huge thank you to Hygge Book Tours and to Mari Jane for giving me the opportunity to read and be included on this wonderful blog tour.

Summary

Perdita Riley is facing the greatest dilemma of her life. She’s just lost her job for not being comfortable with the ethics surrounding her companies’ investment policies. But this isn’t even the biggest dilemma she’s facing.

Having taken her clients’ advice on how to make herself more alluring, Perdita finds herself in the arms of a womaniser she’s been crushing on for weeks, only to now have to deal with a life changing setback. Well, the setback isn’t huge yet but it won’t be long before it is.

After trying to cheer herself up, Perdita spends the day shopping only to land literally, into the lap of Saul Hadley—her client’s nephew. As she fights her growing attraction for Saul she’ll have to deal with the setback for it’s going to become very real in the next nine months…

Review

I loved this wonderfully charming, hilariously quirky and well written rom-com with a protagonist I found utterly endearing. I felt Perdita could easily be the adorably sweet (though naive) cousin of Bridget Jones and her love interest,Saul gives off major brooding Mark Darcy vibes.

Honestly, it was really addictive and I became soo invested in Perdita’s chaotic life, I literally couldn’t put it down. I absolutely loved Perdita, she has an Innocence and naïveté that really endeared her to me, I just wanted to give her a huge cuddle. Saul (Perdita’s love interest) was rather surly and byronesque at times but by the end he did eventually grow on me.

I also really liked Perdita’s friends Gavin and Luke who were really supportive of her throughout her “pollination”, their found family type bond with Perdita was really cute.

I was really surprised by how many miscommunications, mishaps and mixups Perdita stumbled into and I really did feel for her, honestly for a while it felt like she was the most unlucky person in the world —but the ending more than made up for it!

So, If you love your rom-coms with Bridget Jones level catastrophes and hilarious mishaps then I’d definitely recommend giving this a read.
